New Jersey Online Casino Discussion
New Jersey is all geared to license online casinos despite the fact that federal action would or would not take place. While the federal government fights to find the will to examine any of several bills supporting the regulation of Internet gambling, New Jersey is considering all possible avenues to return the state to casino gambling prominence, including permitting online casinos.
Internet casino operators say Atlantic City would be among their most preferred US destinations if they could legally be based out of there. State Senator Ray Lesniak has included provisions for online gambling in his bill seeking to allow sports betting in New Jersey. New Jersey residents would now be serviced by online casinos, which have been granted licenses in New Jersey.
Online gaming officials are of the opinion however that they would prefer a base like Atlantic City, as the stringent regulatory environment would help communicate the safety of online betting to the public. This bill has one objective in mind, and that is to join the land based and the online together so that they could complement each other, rather than share any unpleasant feelings which currently seems to be prevalent. It is a fact that land based casinos feel that they have lost loads of their clientele to online casinos, and this leaves behind bad taste in both setups. Harrah is however opposing the bill and iMEGA Chairman Joe Brennan, Jr. categorically stated that Harrah prefers a federal solution to this, and is going all out in that direction.
